Southeastern Wildlife Exposition 2015

The  Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) is one of the most anticipated annual Lowcountry events spreading its wings across the entire downtown Charleston Peninsula. During this 3-day celebration of wildlife and nature, we invite you to take a break from the festivities and join us for dinner or Sunday Brunch at Cannon Green. We’ve partnered with our sister property Zero Georget to share our picks for SEWE 2015:

SEWE began in 1983 with the mission to contribute to the local economy while promoting wildlife and nature conservation and preservation.  As the largest exposition of its kind, SEWE finds its home in Charleston, SC where it generates an estimated $50 million a year while increasing awareness for wildlife preservation efforts and celebrating the great things that nature has to offer.

This years exposition takes place on the weekend of February 13-15, although those interested in starting the celebration early can purchase VIP tickets to Tuesday and Wednesday events before the exposition opens to all. Starting at 9am on Friday, guests can register their dogs in the only two tank DockDogs event east of the Mississippi. Dockdogs is the world’s Premiere Canine Compeition, in which water-loving dogs can compete in several categories to prove their retriving finesse: Big Air, Speed Retrieve, Extreme Vertical, and Iron Dog. The DockDogs competition spans the full three-days with the finals taking place Sunday afternoon.

In addition to the canine competition, art exhibitions open at 10 am on Friday and demos and educational sessions begin that afternoon – ranging from cooking classes to net and birds of prey flight demos. With an full three-day schedule of activities, we’ve worked with our sister property Zero George Hotel to curate some weekend highlights that cannot be missed.
